Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) has announced plans to offer boat rental services in the near future. The announcement was made during a press conference held by DPA Chairman, A.K. Al-Maktoum, to mark the organisation’s 98th anniversary. It is expected that the service will be available within six months and will be offered through a dedicated website.
The boat rental service will allow visitors to explore various parts of Dubai waterways including the Creek, Gold Souk and DIFC. DPA General Manager for Maritime Affairs and Port Services Hamdan bin Mohammed al-Maktoum said that the center will help boost tourism in Dubai as well as provide residents and visitors with an “easy and convenient” way to get around the city.
Dubai Ports World, the operator of Dubai’s Jebel Ali port, plans to offer boat rental services in the near future. The company said that it has already partnered with online yacht brokerage firm yachtworld.com to launch this new service. Boat rental will be available at Jebel Ali and other ports operated by DP World across the UAE.
